Best Football Academy in Spain
La Masia is the heart of Barcelona’s youth system, which is located next to the Camp Nou Stadium. It was founded in 1979 and was now used to develop the young players who had to leave their families to train in Barcelona both in a sporting and intellectual sense.

Puyol, a native Catalan, is the current club skipper and is heading into his 250th game for the club.
Although not all graduates from La Masia settled at Barcelona and some have moved to other clubs to further their careers.
These include de la Pena, Luis Garcia, Jose Manuel Reina, Mikel Arteta, Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas and Albert Luque.
Fabregas, also a native Catalan, was persuaded by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for a better and better-paid future at Arsenal, and has proved so since joining the Gunners as a 16-year-old boy in September 2003.
Piqué has also been snapped up by Sir Alex Ferguson to strengthen his squad. He is a defender who is not only good for his defensive skills but also gets forward and scores.
