PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is considered to be a set of behaviors and feelings often experienced by people who have been physically and/or emotionally hurt.

PTSD and RTS may manifest as signs of insomnia as follows:

A professional can help you make changes so events no longer define who you are and can help eliminate disruptive everyday behaviors that keep you awake.
You should be able to find the right counselor for any of the above symptoms. Although the symptoms of PTSD and rape trauma syndrome are treatable, the underlying pain can linger for years. Some people may never be able to get over the memory of the trauma they experienced. Even so, counseling can alleviate some of the anxiety associated with these issues.
